Exhibitors - Waste Management & Recycling
The festival has been working with the cutting edge event specialists Network Recycling over the last few years and in 2007 we achieved a recycling rate of 47%, our best yet and far better than any other event managed by Network Recycling that year. However, this comes at a high price (over £10,000) an awful lot of effort.
Exhibitors and Food Concessions are asked to do their bit by reducing the amount of packaging they bring to the festival and if a company is likely to produce a lot of organic waste during the event please let us know in advance so we can arrange to have it collected for compost.
We also ask where possible that all traders use biodegradable packaging and those offering catering or sampling should use biodegradable plates, cups, crockery etc.
We also ask that all traders pay a waste management bond in the form of a cheque to help ensure that all stand spaces are left tidy at the end of the event. We haven't had to hang on to anyone's cheque yet...
